Well the regular season is over. Now what am I going to do. I'm a Broncos fan so squeaks can't get me into the Patriots....sorry. But the good news is that Javy ended the season well. i'm proud to have Tejada, Mora, Roberts, and Ryan on our team among others.
The good news is Mez is coming back...thats good. He did not do bad this years...no worse then our last Manager. Give him another chance.
Well New I can get some school work done!!!!

Something's wrong with me... [30 Sep 2004|08:00pm]

I can't believe I just joined this community. I mean, I know it says "other hot catchers in the MLB," but Javy Lopez is on the side of an enemy, as you can see by my icon.

He is irresistibly hot though, so there's my justification. :) One of my roommates and I love him. I am partial to the catchers of the Red Sox though- Varitek & Mirabelli. *sigh* ;)

I'm Nicole; I'm 20. And I'm from CT. I'm currently in PA because I go to Shippensburg University. My AIM sn is Talking2theRain, if anyone around my age wants to chat.

That Javy Lopez homerun just wasn't enough. And I thought Keith Foulke was gonna strike him out.

Here's a look at the winning pitcher: Mr. Keith C. Foulke

Gotta love the Foulke!!!!!!

Well Javy's bat is coming back around again. And he has been making a lot of good plays at the plate....it's great. I hate that the season is almost over. What the hell am I going to do in the off season?!
The O's have been doing well of lately which is good.
I hope they finish strong and Mez keeps his job..because truthfully he did not do that bad of a job for his first year.

What In the World [24 Aug 2004|06:33pm]

gmoneygolfer
I noticed that we have some weird stuff being posted that has nothing to do with the O's, Red Sox, or baseball...sports stuff is great. But the other stuff which is not sports related not sports related should be posted, unless it has to deal with going to sports games and funny story's about events and so on...

Other wise the O's are on a losing streak again...but Javy looks good!!! as always.

Nomar and Mo and The Curse [15 Aug 2004|09:42pm]

squeaks132007

There's  so much that these guys have in common. The biggest thing that comes to mind is their relationship with the front office. They both had a pretty poor relationship with the front office and none of which was either of there fault. After I finished reading Joe Castiglione's book Broadcast Rites and  Sites: I saw it on the  radio with the Boston Red Sox there was a short part in the book about Mo Vaughn and his time in Boston. Joe wrote in the book that Mo's relationship with the front office was pretty bad that it really was like a divorce between Mo and the Red Sox. It just sounds all too familiar.

The Curse of the Bambino is REAL. The Curse of the Bambino is real because the Red Sox gave away one of the best baseball players that ever played the game back in 1919. They have a history of getting rid of their best players. Look at Carlton Fisk (one of the best catchers that ever played the game), Fred Lynn, Wade Boggs (a hall famer come January 2005), Roger Clemens (a 300 game winner and a future hall of famer), Mo Vaughn and now Nomar. All of these guys came up through the Sox farm system and left the Red Sox  because of disagreements with the front office or whatever. The Curse is real.

I now know how Orioles fans felt when Lucchino was driving  the ship in Baltimore, Werner in San Diego and Henry in Florida. I credit Lucchino for getting Camden Yards built but Camden Yards didn't help the O's win.

In my opinion the Red Sox front office cares more about the Yankees losing than the Red Sox winning.

Well Javy started the day today with the day off in Toronto but when losing 7-3 in the 8th Maz decided to pull him off the bench and PH with the bases loaded....though he did not hit a Grand Slam he hit a 2 run double with stated the ball rolling for the runs to come in...we later won 11-7 getting 8 runs in the 8th.

The O's are doing well its great...and Javy along with meany others looks good!!

WOW [11 Aug 2004|06:30pm]

gmoneygolfer
Well it's about time!!! The O's have won 8 in a row. Javy, Tajada, and Mora are doing well each have a few homers more Mora then anyone. And Larry Bigbie, the left fielder for the O's who is very underestimated I think, has also had a few rbi's and homers in the lovely 8 game wins.

It's good to see the O's doing well and it's good to see Nomar going to a place where he is wanted.

Now, lets see if the O's can keep it up!! Raffy better start using more Viagra!! to give him more home run power!!!!

Nomar being a loner [08 Aug 2004|10:33pm]

squeaks132007
What I hear coming out now and even before from Boston journalists is that Nomar is a loner and some journalists (aka Buckley, Shaughnessy, Callahan, et. al) thought that was a negative for the clubhouse. So far Buckley, Shaughnessy, Callahan, Massarotti, et. al have made me ask the question: Why does everyone think that being the loner on a team makes you the "Weakest Link" or "Mr./Ms. Negativity"? Is being a loner really that bad?

In my opinion being a loner is not a bad thing at all. It doesn't mean you're a negative presence.

I just wanna hear other's thought's on the subject.

One of the saddest things about today [02 Aug 2004|03:27pm]

squeaks132007

I work at a camp in the summer time in Watertown, Massachusetts as a counselor for eight year olds. And today one little eight year came up to me (because they  all know I love baseball) and said to me "How come they had to trade Nomar?" And what could I tell them? I couldn't tell them "It's business" because they don't know what business is. I told them "I don't know. I guess the Red Sox don't think Nomar's worth it." Another kid standing near the first kid (fyi the kid went to Nomar's baseball camp two weeks ago or whenever it was because he was wearing the shirt they give) and he said with straight face "I hate the Red Sox!"

Nomar Trade? [01 Aug 2004|10:44pm]

squeaks132007
Does anyone feel that the Nomar trade was a big mistake? According to the yahoo sports poll "big mistake" beats out "good move" 56%-48%. Now the Red Sox are 0-2 without Nomar and the Cubs are 1-0 with him. Just remember that last August Nomar was the one that pushed the Sox into September. Cabrera does not give you the same veteran presence Nomar does. Now the Sox probability of making it to the playoffs is the same as it previously was. I don't see a big upgrade. Now if the Sox make it to the playoffs (which as of now is a big if) they won't make it past the first round. They're not going anywhere right now. Cabrera is no where near the type of player Renteria, Jeter, Nomar or even Tejada is. They're gonna fall flat on their face. This will be their downfall.
